Purchase Butterflies for Release
Butterfly releases are fast becoming the new tradition in celebrations throughout the United States. Ecologically sound, enhancing to the environment, and fun for your guests, butterflies are a wonderful alternative to the use of rice, balloons and flower petals, which can prove harmful to certain animals, the environment, and church grounds.

Methods for Release
Our most popular method of release is individual boxes or envelopes with one butterfly per box. The butterflies are carefully placed in beautiful triangle boxes (used for pick up orders only). The triangle boxes can be personalized free of charge. If your order is greater than 50 butterflies or requires shipping the butterflies will be packaged in individual glassine envelopes (the safest travel method). These boxes/envelopes are handed out to the guests who are participating in the release.
Sometimes this is the bride and groom, or the wedding party, and sometimes this includes all of the guests. It may be the bride and groom’s parents, as the symbolism of their children “taking flight” is a beautiful memory. It might be the children at the function, as they take special delight in opening the boxes and getting an up-close look at the beautiful creature inside. Their laughter and awe as the butterflies take flight is music to everyone’s ears!
The Mass Release
Another popular method is the mass release, or letting the butterflies emerge from one box that is opened to set them free. This is a beautiful and dramatic display. The groom can hold the box as the bride takes off the lid; or, the maid of honor or best man can hold the box and release the butterflies behind the couple as they leave. Mass releases are only an option for customers picking up their order.
