Release Packages

Ordering for Release

Please call us to place your order - 336-454-5651. We will need your information and the address to which you want the butterflies delivered. We will check fed ex delivery schedules once we have your zip code and telephone number.

All orders must be received AT LEAST 30 days in advance of your event date. The longer the advance notice, the better prepared we can be to fill your order on your special day. We receive some bookings one year in advance! All orders must be booked in advance and include a $50 non-refundable deposit. Butterflies will not be available for any events taking place between October-8-2011 and April-13-2012 (we are closed for winter during this time and it is too cold for butterfly releases).

We accept checks for order payment. If you want to pay via credit card, you can do so using http://www.paypal.com. This is a secure site that will not risk your personal information.

If the package you desire is not listed in the pricing section, let us know when you call that you want to be a little more creative than we were when we wrote our price list! We can discuss envelopes and printing details when you place your order.

All orders must be paid for in full at least two weeks before the ship date for your order. All shipping dates will be confirmed by telephone two weeks before your special date.

Give us a call for availability of stock for funerals and other occasions. We usually have small quantities on hand for last minute and small gatherings and events.

Call us today to reserve your butterflies: (336) 454-5651. Or email us at buttersare@aol.com.

Methods for Release

Individual Envelopes

Our most popular method of release is individual boxes or envelopes with one butterfly per box. The butterflies are carefully placed in beautiful boxes such as the ones at left. We provide and personalize these boxes free of charge. These boxes are handed out to the guests who are participating in the release.

Sometimes this is the the bride and groom, or the wedding party, and sometimes this includes all of the guests. It may be the bride and groom's parents, as the symbolism of their children "taking flight" is a beautiful memory. It might be the children at the function, as they take special delight in opening the boxes and getting an upclose look at the beautiful creature inside. Their laughter and awe as it takes flight is music to everyone's ears!

After the envelopes are distributed, someone might want to read the Native American Butterfly Legend and then the butterflies are released out of their envelopes.

The Mass Release
Another popular method is the mass release, or letting the butterflies emerge from one box that is opened to set them free. This is a beautiful and dramatic display. The groom can hold the box as the bride takes off the lid; or, the maid of honor or best man can hold the box and release the butterflies behind the couple as they leave.
